JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Manager, Engineering is responsible for supervising the daily functions of the software engineering department and implementing plans for the department. They work together with other leaders in the company to establish policies and goals for the department. The Manager, Engineering is accountable for the delivery of work completed by their team, communicating work effort and results, maintaining Jira backlogs and projects and is the owner of metrics for their team.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
? Completes team objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
? Lead software development team to develop, document and maintain iGUIDE platform.
? Develop and manage software engineering applications utilizing standard development tools.
? Collaborates closely with Director, R&D and Product Management
? Stimulate hiring, career plans, training, and performance reviews for software engineering team.
? Review all documents related to Product requirement and participate in product brainstorming sessions.
? Provide employee coaching, mentoring, development, and team building.
? Participate actively in Scrum software development process as Scrum Master as needed.
? Provide leadership, management, and technical vision to one portion of the engineering team.
? Develop and oversee software engineering plans.
? Manage all software engineering schedules, budget, and resource allocation.
? Manage joint development with 3rd party vendors as well as outsourced development.
? Assist software development team to attain optimal team performance through removing obstacles.
? Interact with different members to ensure the successful deliverCORE RESPONSIBILITIES
