The Early Learning Coach is responsible for all pre-kindergarten and Kindergarten programming areas across the Maskwacis Education Schools Commission (MESC). This position contributes to the design, development, and implementation of a Maskwacis Early Learning Program and works closely with the Head Start, K4, and K5 staff, building capacity, supporting instruction, and providing support for children and their families in MESC.The Early Learning Coach is responsible to the Coordinator of Learning and Instruction.The Early Learning Coach will have specific responsibilities for:Provide support to pre-kindergarten and kindergarten teachers and school leadersCoordinate the design, development and delivery of a Maskwacis Early Learning Program, including content, assessment and evergreening cycle.Coordinate engagement with pre-kindergarten teachers, teachers, school leaders, Kehtehayak and Maskwacisak to inform and validate the Maskwacis Early Learning Program.Ensure Maskwacis core values are embedded in all programming.Coordinate and monitor field testing and implementation of a Maskwacis Early Learning Program, including professional learning, resource recommendations and evaluation (feedback, review and revision) Coordinate, design, develop and deliver professional learning (including session evaluation) for early learning educators and pre-kindergarten teachers.Oversee positive and supportive transitions of children and their families from Early Learning Programs to schools across MESC.Monitor, manage and evaluate programming, resources and supports to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of early learning programs.Facilitate workshops, teams and meetings with a positive environmentOversee the administration of early learning assessments.Oversee the development of Strategic Plans for Head Start that align with MESC Strategic Plans.Ensure compliance with and complete reporting requirements from the Government of Canada.Collaborate with Student Services to identify and support the learning, emotional, physical and intellectual wellness of children in the early learning programsAct as an ambassador for MESC Early Learning Programs.Initiate, maintain and strengthen positive working relationships with various agencies, community supports (e.g. Maskwacis Health Services) and early learning partnersAssist the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the preparation of budget recommendations and materials (reports, communication, engagement) regarding early learning programming.Identify and recommend resources to support Nehiyaw language and vocabulary development for early learners.Establish and maintain a parent/guardian advisory committee to support early learning programs.Remain abreast of developments, research and innovations in early childhood education.Modeling and promoting continuous learning experiences through reflection, professional growth, and communication.Other duties and tasks as required.Personnel Management Support the recruitment and retention of Head Start staffAssist the Head Start Coordinator in the recommendation of formal personnel actions (e.g., hiring, termination, promotion, discipline, layoff) for assigned employees and initiate appropriate action to implement recommendations.Support the Head Start Coordinator in communicating the policies and procedures, resolving problems, and addressing employee concerns and complaints.Monitor and maintain records using the Atrieve HR system and other systems of employees work hours, overtime or compensatory time, sick leave, vacation, performance, and related information; authorize time worked; and recommend the approval of leave requests.Qualifications Bachelors degree in education required, masters degree preferredMinimum of five (5) years successful teaching experienceMinimum of three (3) years of experience as an early learning specialistWorking Conditions Travel may be requiredAbility to attend and conduct presentationsManual dexterity required to use de
