Burnside Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a confident, compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician who is looking for a great career opportunity to join our amazing practice family. Nestled in the heart of the industrial district of Dartmouth, Burnside Veterinary Hospital is a fast paced, five-veterinarian companion animal hospital with a strong focus on providing high-quality medicine and client care services. We offer a full in-house Idexx laboratory suite, ultrasound and digital radiographs (dental x-ray included) as well as a fun and supportive environment where you will be able to utilize all of your medical skills!
Your Primary Roles:
- Surgery; using anesthetic protocols for monitoring and surgical assisting
- Preforming dental procedures including digital dental radiographs
- Venipuncture to place IVs, give medication and draw blood
- Providing top quality nursing in a busy environment
- Maintaining accurate patient medical records
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Frequent bending, standing, sitting and lifting up to 40lbs (assistance provided for bigger animals)
- Often working in crouching positions
- Exposure to unpleasant odors, noises, bodily fluids and excretions
- Potential dangers of bites, scratches, zoonotic diseases / parasites

Qualifications:
- Graduate of a Registered Veterinary Technician program required
- Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathy, client care and customer service
- Ability to multitask under pressure in a busy stimulating setting
- Works effectively as a team or on your own, with or without supervision
- Existing knowledge of veterinary computer software system (Avimark) preferred
35 ? 40 hours per week
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.00-$26.00 per hour
