NLHealthServices.ca Job Summary The Social Worker III, is a specialized clinical lead position that provides addictions assessment and therapeutic intervention services to individuals and/or family members. The incumbent is responsible for applying various treatment modalities including both individual and group counselling. The SW/AC Clinical Lead will practice from a trauma informed, harm reduction perspective utilizing a variety of therapeutic interventions including but not limited to CBT, DBT, postmodern narrative, solution focused, brief intervention therapy and relapse prevention. The position will participate in supporting addictions therapeutic pathways along a treatment continuum. This involves outpatient treatment and / or referral to inpatient treatment, if required, preparatory work for inpatient treatment and aftercare. The position will involve inter-collaborative practice with other clinicians in the broader mental health and addictions program. The Social Worker will be expected to provide clinical consultation to addictions counselors and field instruction for Social Work students. The successful applicant will work as part of an addictions team, and will be agreeable to scheduling flexibility to increase access to service for the population. Job Demands By applying for this job, you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):Occasionally, there is lifting or physical strength required to lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs.Regularly sits to consult with clients, conduct therapeutic sessions, and to work on the computer.Occasionally works in awkward or cramped body positions; pushes, pulls, and sets up furniture for group work, and drives to conduct home visits with clients.Regularly uses fine finger/precision work on a computer. Job Qualifications Graduation with a Clinical or Integrated Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program with the MSW field placement in a clinical practice is required.Current registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW) is required.Minimum of five years of experience within the last seven working as a Social Worker in a mental health and addictions program is required.Experience with individual, family, couples and group therapy is required.Experience with brief therapy modalities is an asset.ASIST training is an asset.Knowledge of relevant legislation, including but not limited to, Mental Health Care and Treatment Act, Adult Protection Act, Advanced Health Care Directives Act, and the Children, Youth and Families Act.Knowledge of the Recovery Model.Knowledge of mental health, addictions, concurrent disorders, trauma and associated treatment.Knowledge of community resources in the areas of both mental health and addictions.Knowledge of crisis interventions and supportive counseling.Knowledge of case management.Demonstrated strong clinical leadership skills.Demonstrated ability to direct, supervise and m
