Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work site environment: Clean. Work setting: Fruit and vegetable processing plant. Tasks: Minimize hazards at all stages of the food production process. Train staff/workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Recommend personnel actions such as hiring and promotions. Prepare production and other reports. Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule (and possibly review) activities of workers. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Provide advice in the area of food preparation and storage, and food safety. Monitor quality and production levels. Direct quality control inspections. Conduct quality audits . Supervision: 11-15 people. Testers and graders, food and beverage processing. Industrial processes and products experience: Quality assurance and control. Area of work experience: Quality assurance or control. Regulations knowledge: Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
