Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Residential. Tasks: Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment. Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment. Advise clients regarding standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units and systems. Supervise other workers. Estimate costs and materials. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Gas Fitter Trade Certification. Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Personal suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Excellent oral communication.
