We invite you to be part of our evolution.Our TeamThe purpose of the Thompson Concentrator is to separate, collect, and then concentrate the nickel (pentlandite) and copper (chalcopyrite) minerals from the barren rock (gangue). The Concentrator team endeavors to execute activities in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring consistent, reliable operations, with focus on doing what is right for the long-term stability of the business.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking a Metallurgist Superintendent to join our Concentrator Team in Manitoba. This is a permanent position.As a Metallurgist Superintendent, you will provide leadership to continuously improve the Concentrator processes. You will provide leadership, guidance and direction to a team of professional engineers and technologists. You will collaborate with the various departments and external resources to ensure their needs are being met.Additionally, in this position you willEnsure safety of all team members including personal safety plan compliance and execution of the area safety plan.Actively seek new process technologies for the ConcentratorCollaborate with the operations to ensure operations procedures are current and provide the necessary technical support to monitor and control process variables.Lead the generation of production and metallurgical reports while managing concentrator production forecasting and metallurgical accounting efforts.Lead the identification of any metallurgical defects in production results. Lead the investigation of root causes and action plans to resolve these root causes and eliminate the observed defects. Ensure the technical services group complies with all divisional & concentrator policies & Procedures.Monitor metallurgical process parameters and takes corrective action with team, advise operating Superintendents accordingly and escalate as required.Promote effective working relationships with all departments to improve the performance of the business.Provides technical resources and support to projects (capital and operating) ranging from participating on the teams to leading the project.Participates in short and long-range planning and provides input to Managers' plans.Prepares, writes, and presents scopes of work and business cases for capital & R&D requests.Contributes to departmental and operational budgets and forecasts.Completes feasibility studies and makes recommendations on requests for capital or operating funding.About YouEducation:Engineering degree in a Metallurgical, Chemical or Mineral Processing field is required.
