Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Rural area. Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities. Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort. Perform other duties related to personal care. Supply and empty bed pans. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Serve meal trays and feed patients. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Make beds and maintain patients' rooms. Bathe, dress and groom patients. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Answer call signals to determine patients' needs. Collect specimens. Administer first aid in emergency situations. Provide personal care. Provide companionship. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. Launder clothing and household linens. Administer bedside and personal care. Feed or assist in feeding. Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Vulnerable sector check. Tuberculosis test. Reference required. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods.
