Education: Bachelor's degree. Geophysics and seismology. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Tasks: Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations. Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates. Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials. Provide consultation services to government and other organizations. Write technical reports. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours.
