Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Noisy. Dusty. Work setting: Construction. Various locations. Renovation. Commercial. Residential. Level of expertise: Maintenance and repair. Tasks: Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Personal protective equipment (PPE) training. Working at heights training. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Physically demanding. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Reliability. Team player. Values and ethics.
