Job details
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Construction site. Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Operate mobile and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials. Clean and lubricate cranes. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into earth to provide support for buildings and other structures. Operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas. Help medical examiner in charge. Operate gantry cranes to load and unload ship cargo at port side. Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction. Operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs. Operate dragline cranes to expose coal seams and ore deposits at open pit mines. Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Direct traffic at or near construction sites. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Hand-eye co-ordination. Personal suitability: Accurate. Flexibility. Reliability.
