Are you interested in a new and challenging opportunity? We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering support to the maintenance organization. Do you have a passion to ensure that technical work is executed properly and safely? Do you have experience in providing support for technically complex maintenance work, technical reviews of work plans, conducts engineering changes and acting as a subject matter expert for Preventive Maintenance program changes? *What you will be doing!*
* Working with customers to establish design requirements for components and minor mods to nuclear and non-nuclear process mechanical systems and building mechanical systems
* Using the Engineering Change Control process, create Item Equivalency Evaluations and Reduced-Risk Engineering Change design packages
* Providing support to maintenance planners and technicians during installation
* For system breakdowns and malfunctions, conducting field visits and support maintenance crews with trouble-shooting failed systems and components
* Drafting fact-finding reports complete with recommendations for problem resolutions.
* Supporting implementation of resolutions.
* Developing and apply expertise with CSA and ASME standards for nuclear and non-nuclear pressure boundary systems
* Attending training as required and read applicable documents
* Attending meetings, author memos and reports to communicate interpretation of codes
* Peer review designs produced by others for acceptable application of codes and standards, and general good practise.
*What we are looking for:*
* Bachelor (Honours) degree in Engineering or Applied Science from a University of recognized standing.
* Or membership in an engineering or scientific professional organization authorized by statute to establish qualification for membership in that organization.
* Minimum of four (4) years? working experience in a related field is required. Additional experience (up to 10 years) is desirable and would be considered an asset.
* General computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software is required.
* Ability to work in a team environment, maintain a clear focus on team goals, and establish good rapport with groups and individuals of many diverse professions is required.
* Must have good communication skills, demonstrated leadership ability, interpersonal skills and the ability to excel as a member of a working team.
* Must be able to read and understand all types of engineering drawings. Experience in the management of small projects would be an asset.
* Proven organizational and work planning skills and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
* Excellent written and oral communications skills are required.
* Ability to perform a variety of duties, changing tasks without loss of efficiency or composure.
* Basic knowledge of safety requirements within industrial operations.
* Knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System software is an asset.
* Knowledge of MS Access would be an asset.
* Experience in maintenance planning, design, commissioning and/or operations experience in a plant or nuclear operating environment would be an asset.
* Knowledge of Canada Labour Code, CAN N286, ISO 9000, CSA B51, and ASME standards would be an asset.
* Knowledge and understanding of CNL?s Hazardous Energy Control procedure.
* Knowledge and understanding of CSA Z460, CSA Z462
*Security clearance eligibility required:* Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom.
