We offer a competitive compensation package and a nurturing, family-friendly workplace. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $95,000 to $120,000 per annum. Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity.JOB DESCRIPTION RISK MANAGERThe Risk Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors by leading processes for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks across the School. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial and Operations Officer, the Risk Manager also collaborates closely with the maintenance and operations teams to implement proactive measures that enhance the culture of safety within the organization. The Risk Manager will regularly report on findings to the CFOO, semi-annually to the Senior Leadership Team, and annually to staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReporting directly to the Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFOO), responsibilities include but are not limited to: Risk Assessment and Management:Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of campus facilities, activities, and operational processes to identify potential hazards and vulnerabilities. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and enhance safety protocols in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Policy Development and Insurance:Develop, review, and update school policies and procedures related to safety, security, and risk management. Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations pertaining to campus safety and emergency preparedness. With support from the CFOO, coordinate the annual insurance renewal process, manage insurance claims, and act as the primary liaison for insurance needs. Review contracts and provide a risk assessment and recommendations, when required. Emergency Preparedness and Response:Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop emergency response plans and protocols for various scenarios, including natural disasters, medical emergencies, and security incidents. Conduct regular drills and training sessions to ensure readiness and effectiveness of emergency response procedures. Safety Culture Enhancement:Promote a culture of safety and accountability among students and staff through education, training, and awareness initiatives. Encourage reporting of safety concerns and incidents and facilitate the implementation of corrective actions as needed. Chair the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings. Incident Investigation and Analysis:Lead investigations into safety-related incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and identifying opportunities for improvement. Analyze trends and patterns in incident data to inform preventive measures and continuous improvement efforts.REQUIREMENTSPost-secondary education in risk management, occupational health and safety, or related business discipline CRM, CRMP Designation, and RIMS membership preferred Valid OFA level 3 certification, or prepared to acquire certification within six months of employment Minimum of 5 years experi
