Hours: 20-40 hours per week (Full Time and/or Part Time Options Available)
Reporting to: Dr. Mateen Akhtar, M.D.

Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $60+ per hour, depending on experience. There is potential for compensation through a per patient pay/fee-for-service model should the candidate be interested.
Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Woodlawn Wellness Center will provide comprehensive primary health care services, including disease management, prevention, health promotion, health assessment, and therapeutic interventions to patients of Woodlawn Wellness Center. This state-of-the-art clinic, located in Port Credit, a beautiful neighborhood just a few minutes from Lake Ontario, offers an excellent environment for both professional practice and personal life, making it a perfect place to raise a family. The NP is an integral member of the patient?s circle of care, responsible for delivering advanced clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans across the lifespan. This position demands a thorough understanding of primary health care principles and practices, with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in collaboration with family physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Primary Health Care: Provide comprehensive primary health care services within the Nurse Practitioner?s scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions across all ages and patient populations.
2. Health Assessments: Perform detailed health assessments, including history taking and physical examinations, to formulate and communicate medical diagnoses and treatment plans.
3. Acute and Episodic Care: Deliver care for acute and episodic conditions, engaging in disease prevention and health promotion activities to improve patient outcomes.
4. Collaboration: Work side by side with Family Physicians in providing comprehensive primary care, maintaining independence in practice while having the opportunity for supervision and consultation as needed.
5. Consultation and Referrals: Consult with supervising physicians as needed and refer patients to other health care professionals or services when necessary, ensuring seamless integration of care.
6. Patient Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts and records in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
7. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development, staying current with medical advancements and maintaining the highest standards of care as set by Woodlawn Wellness Center.
8. Compliance and Standards: Adhere to all clinical protocols, policies, and procedures established by Woodlawn Wellness Center and regulatory bodies to ensure safe, effective, and ethical patient care.
9. Travel Opportunities: There may be opportunities for travel to local clinics located within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), if interested.
10. Remote Work: Manage patient inbox and related tasks remotely from home as required.
11. Teaching Opportunities: Engage in teaching activities for medical students, residents, nurse practitioner students, and students of other healthcare professions if interested.
Qualifications:
1. Registration: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class (EC).
2. Education: Completion of an accredited *Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program*.
3. Clinical Skills: Strong clinical background with advanced health assessment and diagnostic skills, capable of managing a wide range of health conditions.
