*Summary:*
Our Accounting Team is actively seeking a *Junior Accountant. *In this role you will join the Accounting team and be responsible for completing full-cycle payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, as well as reception relief.
*About the Job/Responsibilities:*
· Familiarity with payroll requirements and procedures considered an asset
· Monitors reconciliation of payroll accounts for month-end
· Accounts payable and Receivables, and reception relief
*Core Competencies*
* Knowledge of business finance including accounting principles and practices
* Must be a dependable, team-player with superior interpersonal skills; works well while under pressure or in stressful situations
* Functions well with large volume and fast-paced work environment
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
* You will be a resource to all team members and managers as it relates to financial obligations, inventory and controls, purchasing, cash controls, forecasting, budgeting and analysis of statements.
* Conduct bank reconciliations, and scrutinizing transactions
* Calculate, file, and post monthly taxes (PST & GST)
* Maintains Payroll systems and records including payroll audits while working with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure benefits and payroll services are delivered at best practice standards
* Preparing year-end employee tax slips/ forms and submitting government filings to meet deadlines
*About You/Requirements*
* Must be a team-player with a positive attitude and solid work ethic;
* Accounting diploma (Preferred);
* 1+ years of accounting experience
* Preferably experience with PayWorks, and Sage 300
* Advanced computer skills including Excel and other Microsoft Office products;
* Knowledge of computerized accounting software;
* QuickBooks experience would be an asset
