Richelieu Hardware is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing professional for our BC Board Division.
*More specifically, your main tasks will be:*
* Liasson with suppliers, and our sales teams, for product requirements
* Analyze information and decision making to purchase product from suppliers .
* Create Min/Max requirements per skew.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers, internal staff, and customers.
* Negotiate pricing, freighting and delivery times with suppliers.
* Manage inventory levels, identify requirements, flag overstock and work with sales for programs to sell off excess or obsolete inventory.
* Regular follow up of purchase orders and estimated delivery dates.
* Managing system pricing for last cost and future costs
* Managing inventory turns and return on inventory values versus sales
* Managing trucking requirements where needed and negotiating best rates possible
* Work with sales staff to establish sales forecasting for future requirements
*Requirements;*
* College Diploma or equivalent combined with relevant experience;
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position;
* Excellent English communication (written and spoken);
* Excellent leadership skills
* Good computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook;
* Self-motivated, detail oriented with good presentation skills;
* Ability to work in a team;
* Organized, autonomous, resourceful, hardworking;
* Proactive, takes initiate and is creative
* Results oriented.
