Position Description <p>A temporary full time (1.0) Primary Teacher is required by School<p>District No. 60 (Peace River North) effective September 1, 2024 until the return of the incumbent but not beyond June<p>30, 2025. The assignment will be at Anne Roberts Young Elementary School <p>Qualifications and Experience <p><p> Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)<p> Committed to a co-planning model within a learning "pod" of three to four divisions<p> Willingness to share space and resources in a learning "pod" of<p> three to fur divisions within a flexible learning space environment<p> Qualifications and demonstrated ability to teach the identified subjects at the elementary years level<p> Experience with universal design and differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students<p> Excellent interpersonal, communications, collaboration and organization skills<p> Experience/training/knowledge of Social Emotional Learning.<p> Demonstrated ability to create a positive classroom community<p> contributing to a safe, caring, and healthy school where every student<p> feels a sense of belonging<p> Strong belief in the philosophy of inclusion and the potential of all students to learn<p> Understanding of the BC Curriculum and ability to plan both short-term and long-term in consideration of class composition<p> Willingness to work in a collaborative model with staff on the foundation of enhancing student learning<p> Demonstrated use of classroom management practices that are pro-active and maintain student dignity<p> Demonstrated use of assessment practices that promote student learning and maintain student dignity<p> Working knowledge of the new curriculum to plan effectively<p> Working knowledge of Performance Based Assessment, Balanced Literacy, Phonemic Awareness Development<p> Working knowledge of current practice in teaching numeracy<p> Ability to use performance standards in reading, writing, numeracy and social responsibility<p> Committed to individualized instruction and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques<p> Ability to work as part of a team to<p> develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with<p> academic, social, emotional, and learning difficulties<p> Ability to assist in the implementation of individualized education plans for low incidence students<p> Knowledge and understanding regarding the needs of autistic children, commitment to use of visual supports<p> Experience working with educational assistants<p> Committed to working with staff on the school plan and with professional development<p> Ability to relate well with students parents and staff members<p> Committed to following the goals and strategies outlined in the school improvement plan<p><p> <p>The Distinct Nature of Teaching and Learning at Anne Roberts Young Elementary School<p>Anne Roberts Young Elementary School was designed and built to facilitate a distinct learning environment. This process involved visitations to schools around the country, community consultation meetings and several design meetings with a cross-section of staff from around the district.
