Integrated Literacy Coordinator (Elementary) <p>The Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority (ADEA) is a First Nation Education Authority serving the three Denesuline First Nations communities in northern Saskatchewan; Black Lake First Nation, Hatchet Lake First Nation, and Fond Du Lac First Nation. The Authority serves a total student population of approximately 1,300+ students. The Authority is working toward improved educational outcomes by utilizing the latest technology, progressively piloting programs, and integrating Denesuline culture into the classroom and school curriculum. <p>Position Overview: <p>The ADEA is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Integrated Literacy Coordinator to join our central office team in Prince Albert, SK. This role is essential in leading and supporting the development and implementation of the elementary literacy program within ADEA. The ideal candidate will work closely with school and central office staff to ensure high-quality literacy instruction and will play a key role in integrating Dene language and cultural knowledge into our classrooms.<p>Key Responsibilities: Program Leadership: Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Authoritys elementary literacy program, aligning with best practices and current research in literacy education. This will include regular travel to each school.<p> Curriculum Integration: Collaborate with the central office team, teachers, and language experts to integrate Dene language and cultural content into literacy lessons and activities.<p> Coaching and Support: Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and support to elementary teachers to enhance their literacy instruction and language integration, including classroom observations, feedback, and modeling of best practices.<p> Community Engagement: Work with families, community members, and local organizations to promote literacy and the Dene language.<p> Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between the central office and schools, ensuring alignment and effective communication of literacy goals and initiatives.Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Education focused on Literacy, Language Development, or a related field required; Masters degree is preferred.<p> Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in elementary education, with a focus on literacy instruction. Experience in instructional coaching is highly desirable.<p> Cultural Competency: Strong understanding and respect for Dene cultures, with experience in integrating Indigenous language and culture into educational programs. <p>Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.<p> Strong organizational and project management abilities.<p> Ability to analyze data and use it to drive instructional decisions.<p> Experience with professional development and adult learning.<p> Proficiency in the Dene language an asset. <p>Why Join Us?
