Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Cold/refrigerated. Dangerous. Hot. Outdoors. Work setting: On-site customer service. Commercial. Installation. Tasks: Determine type of glass, frames and material required. Measure, mark and cut glass. Position and secure panes in frame. Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products. Install door, window and other hardware. Repair glass doors and other glass structures. Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages. Work from man-lift mobile equipment, cranes and other lifting equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Working at heights training. First Aid Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Type of glass/materials: Float glass. Mirrors. Sealed units. Frame fabrication and installation: Curtain wall (stock length material). Curtain wall (prefabricated material). Spandrel panel installations. Entranceways. Installation specialization: Skylights and slope glazed installations. Curtain walls. Aluminum storefronts, barrel vaults, solariums, commercial window systems. Shower doors and tub enclosures. Security and safety: Basic security clearance. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Gloves. Screening questions: Are you available for the advertised start date?.
