Job details
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Supervise staff or team. Provide staff training. Clean and sterilize the operating room and instruments. Provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care. Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy. Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families. Leading/instructing individuals. Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff. Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures. Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work. Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination. Area of specialization: Geriatrics. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Immunization records. Tuberculosis test.
