Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Assess extent of injuries or illness of trauma victims to determine emergency medical treatment. Administer pre-hospital emergency care. Administer medications and provide advanced emergency treatments to patients. Document and record nature of injuries and treatment provided. Assist hospital personnel with provision of medical treatment, if necessary. Provide paramedical aid to accident victims or ill persons. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Class 4/4F/F/4A-B-C Licence (ambulances, emergency vehicles and buses with fewer than 24 passengers). St. John's Ambulance First-Aid Certificate. Canadian Red Cross First-Aid Certificate. Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certificate. CPR Certificate. Security and safety: Enhanced reliability security clearance. Criminal record check. Child Abuse Registry check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Driver's abstract. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail.
