Title: Millwright
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Shift: Afternoons 2:30pm to 11:00pm
Job Purpose: To install, maintain and upgrade machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blue prints and other drawings in an industrial establishment in accordance with Company specifications.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Install, align, dismantle and overhaul machinery and equipment using hand and power tools
* Perform preventative maintenance (PM)
* Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions.
* Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts. Analyze, evaluate and recommend upgrades for improvement
* Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Knowledge of electrical diagrams
* Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Ability to use a meter and check fuses
* Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
* Operate a computer search for required parts and submit requisition to purchase parts
* Training of mechanics and machine operators
* Adhere to Company's Health & Safety policies; eg. Lock Out/Tag Out
* Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance to 5S principles
Education and Experience:
* High School Diploma, GED or 3-5 years relevant experience
* 3-5 years? experience in a manufacturing environment
* Licensed Millwright with a valid 433A license
* Competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)
Specialized Skills:
* Ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical instructions
* Must have a good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics and all components involved in these processes (such as valves, cylinders, pumps)
* Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
* Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to function in a fast-paced multi-functional environment where priorities change regularly
* Strong communication skills with the ability to think independently while working with minimal supervision
* Logical step by step procedures, planning, solving problems and decision making based on quantifiable information
* Flexibility for schedule changes to support a three shift operation
* A high integrity ?can do? attitude team player with the ability to work well with others and possesses a strong sense of urgency
