Activities</span><br><span>include, hazardous materials program management for store and supply chain locations; regulatory</span><br><span>compliance support; SDS Program management including ongoing compliance with the Globally</span><br><span>Harmonized System (GHS/WHMIS 2015); chemical item inventory management; and hazardous</span><br><span>materials vendor management.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span>Further, the Advisor, Environmental Compliance supports and partners with the Coordinator,</span><br><span>Environmental Compliance with third-party vendors in the facilitation of hazardous waste pickups, spill</span><br><span>management, emergency support, and PPE/supplies.</span></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span><span>Your role<br></span> </span></p> <ul> <li> <span>Develop, enhance, implement, and maintain HAZMAT/Environmental programs and policies</span><br><span>to ensure compliance with government regulations and to resolve related issues as they arise</span><br><span>from store, supply chain, and corporate locations.</span> </li> <li> <span>Responsible for understanding and addressing Provincial and Federal level hazardous</span><br><span>materials and environmental compliance regulations.</span> </li> <li> <span>Work/partner with various teams within the organization including: Asset Protection & Safety,</span><br><span>Legal, Merchandising, Facilities, Engineering & Construction, Real Estate, Quality Assurance,</span><br><span>Public Relations, Supply Chain, and Store Communications to address issues and ensure</span><br><span>company compliance with policies and procedures as well as government regulations.</span> </li> <li> <span>Work with hazardous waste disposal vendor to manage hazardous waste disposal program</span><br><span>for all store, supply chain, and corporate locations and ensure program compliance.</span><br><span>Research, develop, and implement program issues and enhancements. Resolve vendor</span><br><span>service issues. Manage and develop compliance reporting metrics.</span> </li> <li> <span>Work directly with new Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Classification Vendors to properly</span><br><span>classify and manage all RONA?s HAZMAT items (Approximately 17,500 current HAZMAT</span><br><span>items) as well as classification of newly on-boarded items to RONA?s going forward.</span><br><span>Classification system process includes item level regulatory review of guidelines set forth by</span><br><span>the following agencies: Environment Canada, Occupational Health & Safety, National Fire</span><br><span>Protection Agency (NFPA), as well as an individual Provincial, Federal, and Local regulatory</span><br><span>reviews.</span> </li> <li> <span>Provide hazardous materials program support and guidance to all store and supply chain</span><br><span>locations and assists with researching issues of non-compliance, violations, and/or citations</span><br><span>with regulatory officials in order to prepare formal responses to internal
