Job details
Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: On-site customer service. Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio. Tasks: Advise clients on beauty care treatments. Analyze hair and scalp condition. Book appointments. Cut and trim hair according to client's instructions or preferences. Provide custom hair and scalp treatment. Shampoo customers' hair. Provide other hair treatment, such as waving, straightening and tinting and also provide scalp conditioning massages. Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences. Perform receptionist duties. Maintain and order supplies. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Hairstylist Trade Certification. Hairstyling Red Seal Certificate. Hairstylist Licence. Hair styling techniques: Blow drying. Hair braiding. Iron waving/curling. Permanents. Extensions. Spiking. Roller setting. Hair colouring techniques: Bleach. Dyes/tints. Frosting. Streaking/highlights. Area of work experience: Manager. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Security and safety: Bondable. Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail.
