Our 40-person team manufactures everything from one-off custom products for the entertainment industry; to high volume products for a specific customer, to in-house products and systems, and sells them through a variety of distribution channels to multiple markets and customer segments. _If you are an energetic, creative, driven and excited about design_, you might be the perfect fit to join our team as an *Industrial Designer, METHOD Products*. *OVERVIEW:* The Industrial Designer ? In-House Products is responsible for the design of products that make up the METHOD portfolio of products. You will develop conceptual and advanced concept designs that consider manufacturing constraints while also reaching further in terms of what it is that the company makes. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Using the in-house staged gate process, design new products that: are aligned with company goals and objectives; are aligned with the capabilities and capacities of the manufacturing team; and have significant, profitable sales potential based on market research * Identify opportunities for improvement to existing products, and work to continuously improve the design of all in-house products * Produce production-ready Solidworks models, drawings, BOMs, specifications and other details to fully communicate the requirements for the project to the manufacturing and procurement teams * Estimate costs for the product using in-house estimating tools * Work collaboratively with other teams (Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, etc.) *REQUIREMENTS:* * Bachelor?s Degree in Industrial Design or equivalent higher education * Minimum 5 years of continuous experience as an Industrial Designer; strong preference given to candidate with experience in a manufacturing setting * Advanced proficiency in 3D Modelling software (strong preference for SolidWorks experience as that is the company working platform, Rhinoceros experience an asset), including modeling, rendering and drafting principles and techniques * Proficiency with Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) * Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) * Experience with ERP/MRP systems, specifically with multi-level BoMs and product specifications * Solid understanding of manufacturing constraints and processes with an ability to estimate cost * An ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications * A strong creative temperament and an optimistic approach to problem solving * A natural diligence and attention to detail and a passion for producing high quality work * An ability to establish priorities, multitask and work independently * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Other duties to assist other team members and departments as needed *OUR VALUES:* * Collaboration * Customer Focused * Agility * Passion * Innovation * Accountability *WHAT WE OFFER:* Our greatest asset is our people.
