The nursery in Sainte-Luce will receive an additional $9M from the Government of Quebec by 2027 to add a potting centre. The modernization project began in 2018 and is valued at a total of nearly $30M.
Quincaillerie Sayabec has reopened in Sayabec. The home improvement centre, which is part of the Home Hardware brand, underwent major modernization work.
Marmen Énergie has reopened its wind turbine tower manufacturing plant in Matane, adding a hundred workers to the twenty or so already on the payroll. The company also plans to hire 350 additional employees over the next few years.
Pat BBQ, a sauce and spice company, is temporarily closing its production plant in L'Isle-Verte indefinitely. The company laid off 12 employees as a result.
The Government of Quebec is investing over $7M in 24 projects to support the fisheries and seafood processing sector in the Gaspé Peninsula and Lower St. Lawrence. Of this amount, the provincial government will allocate $4.5M to fish harvesters for purchasing businesses or equipment.
