Payworks recently unveiled its new $60M headquarters in south Winnipeg. The company, which manages payroll and human resources services, has grown significantly in the last few years. At present, Payworks has more than 350 Winnipeg employees, compared to 200 in 2018.

Manitoba teachers have ratified their first province-wide collective agreement, which includes wage increases of more than 12% over four years. The Manitoba Teachers’ Society says the new contract will close the wage gap between rural and urban school divisions, so all teachers have the same base pay.

The Manitoba Métis Federation has created a new business association and economic development corporation intended to support Métis entrepreneurs across Canada. The new organizations will host networking events, advocate for the Métis business community, and provide financial support and other services.
