*Job Summary*:
The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for providing emergency care, first aid, and episodic treatment for occupational injuries and illnesses at Manufacturing Plant. This role requires a strong knowledge of illness and injury prevention, workplace safety, and health promotion. The Nurse will maintain accurate medical records related to OSHA, Workers' Compensation, and corporate reporting, and will work independently in a large on-site facility, collaborating with the medical team and other business partners to ensure employee health and safety.
*Key Responsibilities*:
* *Emergency & Episodic Care*:
* Administer professional nursing care for sick and injured employees, including first aid and emergency treatment according to established protocols and standing orders.
* *Clinical and Diagnostic Tests*:
* Perform and evaluate various clinical and diagnostic tests, and document results accurately.
* *Medical History & Assessments*:
* Interview employees and document their medical history as part of ongoing care. Perform and document physical exams as needed.
* *Collaboration*:
* Work effectively with the Medical Team, Health Services, and other business partners to ensure efficient health care delivery and workplace safety.
* *Medical Records Management*:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with OSHA, Workers' Compensation, and corporate requirements.
* *Health & Wellness Programs*:
* Assist in promoting plant wellness programs and support efforts to improve employee health and well-being.
* *Equipment & Supplies Management*:
* Ensure the proper maintenance of medical equipment and supplies to facilitate efficient care delivery.
* *Professional Communication*:
* Interface with employees and health services customers in a professional, knowledgeable manner, ensuring confidentiality and respect.
*Required Qualifications*:
* *Experience*:
* 3-5 years of experience in nursing, with a preference for experience in Occupational Health or Emergency Room settings.
* *Education*:
* Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario is preferred.
* COHN (Certified Occupational Health Nurse) certification is a plus.
* *Skills*:
* High level of initiative and independent judgment.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Effective oral and written communication skills.
* Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic computer software.
* *Certifications*:
* Certified in Healthcare Provider CPR/AED.
*Preferred Experience*:
* *Occupational Health*:
* Two or more years of nursing experience in Occupational Health is preferred.
* *Emergency Care*:
* Experience in Emergency Room (ER) care is highly desirable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $37.83-$42.31 per hour
