The Dieppe municipal council approved a residential building construction project to go ahead on 452 Amirault Street on Monday evening. Despite strong public opposition, the elected officials voted in favour of the 152-unit five storey building on the former archdiocese land.
Edmundston is receiving $762,000 from the Government of New Brunswick to carry out pre-construction work on six priority sites that can serve up to 120 housing units.
Moncton is reporting a significant surge in building permit for the second quarter with 437 permits issued representing a combined total of $92.2M. The permits are related to institutional and government infrastructure, to commercial and industrial construction and to residential sector.

The federal government announced a $9.5M investment in building and repairing over 400 affordable housing units in N.B. Of these units, 21 new housing units will be built and 385 will be repaired.
Eastgate Developpements announced a project with 952 homes in Moncton. The project will be in the northern part of the city near the Irishtown Nature Park and Pine Tree mini home park and should be finished by 2029.
