Avianor, an aircraft maintenance and repair company, inaugurated a facility to maintain A220 aircraft in Mirabel. The project of over $70M received $9M in provincial funding and $7.6M in federal funding.
KF Aerospace, located in Southport near Portage la Prairie, will play a role in the Royal Canadian Air Force’s current training program. The Future Aircrew Training Program is a 25-year initiative in which KF Aerospace will oversee classroom and simulator training and manage flight operations. New facilities and upgraded equipment at Southport are expected over the life of the program.

The University of Manitoba is collaborating with Magellan Aerospace on a satellite monitoring project. With funding from the federal government, the partners are building two satellites to monitor objects in space over Canada and the South Pole. The satellites are scheduled to launch in 2027.
