Southport Aerospace Centre, near Portage la Prairie, is seeking a designation from Canada Border Services Agency as an official airport of entry. This would allow passengers on small private aircraft to clear customs onsite, without first having to touch down in Winnipeg. The change could bring additional business to the airport and the surrounding community.
