Stswecem’c Xget’tem First Nation (SXFN) and West Fraser have signed a memorandum of understanding for a forest management framework. The framework will provide clarity to West Fraser while meeting the economic and cultural concerns of SXFN. The Regional District of Central Okanagan is planning salvage logging for Rose Valley Regional Park in West Kelowna. The logging will help repair the park from last year’s fire damage.
