The federal government has confirmed that the headquarters of the new Canada Water Agency will be located in downtown Winnipeg. Last year, the government committed $85.1M over five years to establish the agency, which will guide water policy and fund water protection programs. The Winnipeg office will employ about 100 people.
The governments of Canada and Manitoba are providing a combined $986,000 to Ndinawemaaganag Endaawaad, a Winnipeg organization serving at-risk youth. The funds will be used to provide programming and public health services at Tina's Safe Haven, the non-profit's 24-hour drop-in centre.

Manitoba Hydro is restarting its global energy consulting business, which was discontinued in 2021 under the previous provincial government. Approximately half of Manitoba Hydro International’s 150 staff remained with Manitoba Hydro after its closure, and the Crown corporation says it will now hire up to 20 new employees for the subsidiary’s revival.
The provincial and federal governments are providing more than $2M over five years to the Enterprise Machine Intelligence and Learning Initiative, an agricultural technology non-profit. The funds will support the Innovation Farms Centre, a new research and demonstration facility in Grosse Isle, northwest of Winnipeg.
