The Government of Alberta is set to pay a 39 per cent increase in RCMP costs that rural municipalities would otherwise have to pay in 2025-2026. The province says it will pay a higher proportion of the policing costs shared with municipalities at a cost of $27M for a year while the Alberta government figures out how to cover the costs in future years.
